#18: Simple weekly statistics shall be published for the private council mailing list
To give the project community an idea of how much private discussion takes place within the council, simple weekly statistics shall be published for the private council mailing list, including the number of messages and the number of distinct topics.
(Proposed on 2005-01-15 by Julian Mehnle. Passed unanimously.)
<csm> the next item is 4
<csm> Publish statistics for the spf-private list
<csm> I have no objection
<Julian> The point for that is to show that not much secret stuff is going
on.
<csm> and I think it will actually be quite revealing...
<csm> yes
<Julian> Yep.
<csm> no problem here
<Julian> Motion: Publish statistics for the spf-private list: "This week, m
messages with n distinct topics have been sent to the spf-private
list."
<csm> Julian: do you accept responsibility for this action?
<Julian> csm: Yes.
<grumpy> the script I used to use to post stats on spf-discuss could be used
for spf-private
<Julian> grumpy: Oh, ok.
<grumpy> it doesn't do subjects though.
<grumpy> just number of posts and by whom
<csm> good... subjects are out of bounds
<Julian> The subjects should remain secret, but the number of distinct
subjects should be public.
<grumpy> So, should I start running it?
<csm> yes that's fine
<Julian> grumpy: Can I see a sample output?
<csm> okay so Julian made a motion... the rest is technical details and I
don't care
<csm> votes?
