"Domain forgery – mostly by mass-mailed viruses – was a huge problem for us due to the number of seafarers that have our address on the system. Because their infected computers would also contain several other addresses of shipping employers, existing and potential clients inevitably received high volumes of infected e-mail forging our domain as the sender. This involved countless hours of damage limitation on our part simply to stop our domain being put on their Internal Block list. However, this has almost stopped since our SPF record was published and [this is] why I place such value on it."
